Mosquito

The mosquito problem is a common pest issue in all over the Sri Lanka and they spread a number of diseases such as dengue (Aedes spp), Malaria (Anopheles spp), etc. All mosquitoes undergo the same four-stage life cycle: egg, larva, pupa, and adult, with the larval and pupal stages always being aquatic (complete metamorphosis). The entire life cycle takes approximately 8-10 days, Male mosquitoes will live only 6 or 7 days on average, feeding primarily on plant nectar, and do not take blood meals. Females with an adequate food supply can live up to 5 months or longer, with the average female life span being about 6 weeks. Female mosquito takes blood for production and development of egg.
Bedbug
The bedbug (Cimex lectularius) has an incomplete metamorphosis with three main stages (egg, nymph, and adult). The life span of a bed bug most commonly ranges from four to six months. Some adult bed bugs may live up to a year under cool conditions. Bed bugs most often congregate along the seams and edges of the most common furniture in every home and office. The blackish spots are excrement. Bed bugs often hide in the seams, folds, and crevices of the mattress, box spring, bed frame, and headboard. Bed bugs are not known to transmit disease, but cause secondary infestations. Bites are often painless and active at night. Some people suffer from allergic reactions and develop painful.
